In News by Rachel Leadholm

Trends for logistics and the global supply chain are continuing its trajectory into the digital evolution and the explosion of AI and what it means for today’s workforce as well as tomorrow’s uncertainty. This month’s #materialhandlingminute looks at the significant leap in investments for the logistics industry toward digitization in 2026, and how quantum tech is shaping the global manufacturing industry.

The World Economic Forum reported on how quantum technologies are rapidly transitioning from theory into real life – creating tools for manufacturing and beyond to unlock efficiencies, fortifying security and providing new leaders.

MPC Expert Insight:

While the thought at quantum computing, AI, robotics and even simple tech software seem daunting for material handling, an industry traditionally thought of as rugged and less than sophisticated, there will be no stopping the continued proliferation of tech at every level of the warehouse. Taking the time now to learn and create a vision and mission for your own company and its future is a key strategy MPC embraces.

According to this article from DC Velocity, Ontegos Cloud did a study where a staggering 40% of respondents reporting that at least one quarter of their coming budgets for 2026 have been dedicated to advancing technology within their operations.
