Autumn Giveback: Serving Community with the Hollywood Food Coalition
Community care doesn’t take a holiday, and the Hollywood Food Coalition (HFC) has not missed a meal since 1987. Weekdays, weekends, holidays – every single day, they provide nourishing meals to anyone who needs one. Through multiple intake centers and generous partnerships with local grocery stores and restaurants, HFC transforms food waste into something far more meaningful: a reliable support system for the community.

This week, MPC Account Executive Rachel volunteered alongside the HFC team, spending time meal prepping in one of their kitchens. From chopping and prepping fresh ingredients to helping assemble meals, the experience offered a firsthand look at how consistency, compassion, and coordination come together to make an impact.

What stood out most was the efficiency and care behind the scenes. Every ingredient is thoughtfully used, every station has a purpose, and every volunteer plays a role. It’s a reminder that fighting food insecurity isn’t just about food – it’s about dignity, structure, and showing up day after day.
